Two Man Scramble
Teams: Two Man teams, in flight. You may request teammates however the Committee may deny that request if the two are deemed to have an unfair advantage.
Flights: 5 flights.
Handicap: Scratch
Signup: Signup online during the registration period. Indicate the name of the partner you wish to play with in the notes.
Tee time: Tee times and captains will be assigned by the committee. All players will be notified via email. Any member that changes his tee time (pairing) without the permission of the Tournament Committee will be disqualified from the tournament. The only allowable reason for change will be if that player becomes a single and would have no marker.
Format: All players tee off on all holes. Select the best drive, then all both players hit from that spot. Select the next best shot, then both players hit from that spot. Play continues in this fashion until the team holes out.
Mark the spot you are playing from before lifting ball. Ball may be lifted, cleaned and placed from anywhere on the course. From everywhere but the green, all players must place their ball within one club length from the mark, no closer to the hole. If the selected ball is in the rough, all players must hit from the rough. If the selected ball is in a hazard, all players must hit from the hazard, or take relief as appropriate.
On the green, all players must place their ball within 6 inches of the mark, no closer to the hole. Once the team has holed out, they have completed that hole. Do not tap in if there are players that still need to putt!
All Two Man teams must use every player’s drive at least seven times. Teams that do not use every player’s drive seven times will be disqualified from the tournament. Think ahead, it may be better to take a drive that is not as good as another if you need a drive from that player.
Scorecard: The captain should pick up the pre-printed official scorecard in the pro shop, if available, otherwise he should prepare your group’s own official scorecard. Choose a member of your group to act as the marker for the group. That person must be an SLMGA member. Mark each hole indicating whose drive was selected. There must be at least seven marks next to each player’s name. In the case of a single, no marks are required. Write the team’s score for each hole on the Team Score line of the scorecard.
Conclusion: The marker should total the front, back and overall scores for each competitor in the group. For team events, the marker should also total the team’s score. If applicable, subtract each player’s handicap allowance from their gross score and record their net score. Competitors are responsible for verifying their gross score on each hole but should also verify their totals. All competitors must sign the scorecard. The marker should sign a second time as marker and date the scorecard. Post your net score on the tournament sheet. The marker is responsible for returning the official scorecard to the SLMGA box once it has been verified by all competitors.
Ties: Ties will be decided by a match of cards as described in the tournament procedures.
More Info: See tournament procedures in the official membership book. Refer to rule 20-3 in the USGA Rules of Golf.

SLMGA CUP
Teams: Two 30 Man Teams.
Flights: Across flights.
Qualifiers: In every qualifying tournament you participate in you will be awarded points based on your finish in the tournament. The more tournaments you participate in, the more points you will be able to accumulate. At the cutoff point toward the end of the season the top 60-point winners will qualify to play in this event. If all qualifiers do not register to play in this event, players that have registered will drop down to fill open positions until 60 players are reached. The points awarded for each qualifying tournament are defined below.
Captains: One captain will be selected to head each team. The two captains will select the players they want on their team from the pool of qualifiers. Captains will also decide who from their team will play in each match. The procedures for both are described below. Indicate in the notes when you register if you would like to be a captain. The two volunteers with the highest point totals will be chosen as captains.
Handicap: In singles, 100% allowance, applied by hole off the low ball in the group. In teams, 90% allowance, applied by hole off the low ball in the group. Handicaps will be determined the Monday before play starts and then updated after the first weekend on the Monday before second weekend.
Rounds: There will be 4 rounds played on consecutive weekends. Round 1 will be on Saturday of weekend 1, round 2 on Sunday of weekend 1, round 3 on Saturday of weekend 2, and round 4 on Sunday of weekend 2. You must be able to play at least one day. If you are unable to one day, don’t register.
Signup: Signup online during the registration period. Since not every qualifier will register to play, sign up even if you haven’t qualified in the top 60. You never know.
Rounds 1 and 2 are Four Ball match play. The game is played by holes. The hole is won by the team whose best ball is the fewest net strokes. If the hole is “halved”, then neither team gets credit for the hole. There will be a total of 9 points awarded in each round.
Rounds 3 and 4 are Singles Match play. The game is played by holes. The hole is won by the player who holes his ball in the fewer strokes. If the hole is “halved”, then neither player gets credit for the hole. There will be a total of 18 points awarded in each round.
For the tournament there is a total of 54 points awarded. The winning team will be the one that accumulates at least 27½ points. If both teams finish with 27 points all players will split the total prize fund equally. Each captain will receive an additional 25 points in chits on top of what their team wins.
A side may concede his opponent’s next stroke at any time provided the opponent’s ball is at rest. The opponent is considered to have holed out with his next stroke and the ball may be removed by either side. A side may concede a hole at any time prior to the start or conclusion of that hole. A side may concede a match at any time prior to the start or conclusion of that match. A concession may not be declined or withdrawn.
If a side is “out of the hole” the player(s) may pick up to speed up play. In this case the marker will record the score the player(s) was most likely to get or the maximum score of Net Double Bogey for them on that hole, whichever is less. In Four Ball format, in order to win a hole, at least one player on the winning team must hole out or have a putt or the hole conceded. Failure of at least one player to complete the hole will result in loss of hole.
The side that wins the match is awarded 1 point. If there is a tie at the end of the match each side is awarded ½ point. Points won will be added to the team point total.
Scorecard: If available, pick up pre-printed scorecards in the pro shop, otherwise prepare your own scorecard. One competitor will be declared the marker and will keep score for both sides in the match. All players will play off the low handicap in the match. For example, if the low handicap is an 8, a player with a 12 handicap would receive a stroke on the 4 highest rated holes. Place a dot on each hole that a player receives a stroke on (place two dots if they receive two strokes). After each hole, the marker shall record each competitor’s GROSS score next to his name. The marker should keep a separate line to indicate the standing in the match. In Four Ball, an additional line on the scorecard should be marked “Best Ball”. Select the player with the best net score on the hole and write that score on the “Best Ball” line.
Prizes: See the Tournament Schedule and Prize Fund for the exact amount awarded to each member of the winning and losing teams. Each captain will also be awarded an additional 25 point voucher.
Rainouts: In the event that the course is closed due to inclement weather, or the tournament committee declares a rainout, the remaining schedule of the event will be affected. If round 1 is rained out, rounds 2, 3 and 4 will also be rescheduled. If round 2 is rained out, rounds 3 and 4 will also be rescheduled. If round 3 is rained out, round 4 will also be rescheduled. If an individual is unable to compete on the rain date they must concede the match.
Qualifying Tournament Points Any Match Play Events – 2500 points to the winner, 1250 points to the loser.
